Not all gifts which you can buy are as personalized as you would like. In most cases they just don't fit the idea which you have in your mind. In such situation the only advice is a "do it yourself" gift. You will be able to create a gift which will suit perfectly the theme and the person whom you want to give a gift to.

So, what can you do in order to create a personalized gift by yourself.  Some things may just take a few moments while the other gifts may take several days.

1. If your friend is an inveterate gardener you can plant seeds in your garden or in container, then nurture them till they grow big enough and can be planted in your friend's garden.

2. Look for different mugs, bowls, plates, and vases in fired green ware at your local ceramic store. Then paint your friend's favorite flowers on them or name on the things. Another way is to leave them plain and paint clear glaze and then ask the shop to fire them for you.

3. Rub the rose petals so that they could release their scent and create the rose bath oil for your beloved. Place the roses in a bottle with mineral oil, cloves, and zest of lemon. This rose oil wil make her skin smooth.

4. Buy one of the bread baking mixes adn bake a few different flavored loaves and put them together in a basket.

5. Fresh herbs have unforgettable flavor. Make a Herb Basket by putting together little pots of growing herbs. These great hers will add flavor to every dish.

6. Create pretty coasters: buy pretty tiles and glue corkboard on the bottom.

7. Try to find the bottle of a unique shape and fill it with white wine, apple cider or red wine vinegars. Complement it with a few hers from yuor garden. Then, pop in a cork, add a label and tie a pretty ribbon on the throat of the bottle.

8. If you can sew, try to make pretty potholders and mitts. The edge can be binded with a bias tape of a matching or even a contrasting color.

9. If it is a season of strawberries you can dip them in melted white chocolate and brown chocolate pieces to give a tuxedo effect. Leave them to chill and put in a napkin lined basket.

10. Have knitting  or crochet skills, make a pretty scarf for the cold months or  a beautiful placemat for the friend's table.
